In the past two years, 3D has proven a smash hit with movie-goers.  Not only does it raise ticket prices for the format, but it also attracts people to see movies they wouldn’t normally go see (read: The Final Destination)

So it is NO surprise that there are a lot of movies coming out this year in 3D, some are quite the fan favorites:

Warner Brothers announced that their remake of Clash of the Titans being released April 2nd will now be presented in both 2D AND 3D (using the same technology used to bring Avatar to 3D).  Other movie studios are trying to reshuffle their movies so as to not get killed in the box office – so if you had any movies you were looking forward to seeing that weekend, be prepared that they might move to a different date.

Also released in 2D/3D formats from WB:

Guardians of Ga’Hoole (September)

Cats & Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore (July)

Harry Potter and Deathly Hallows, Part 1 (November) – with Part 2 getting the same treatment the following year.

Two things I need to confirm:  Yes, the Cats & Dogs movie is a sequel to the one released nine years ago.  And yes, the secondary title for it is a pun on the name of a famous James Bond character.

Look for even more movies announced to be presented in 3D by other studios.  Already, Jackass 3D has been announced for this year.
