Well, yesterday I had great news about Supernatural getting renewed for another season (its 6th).  However, today I have some not-so-great news that has developed.

Eric Kripke, the creator of Supernatural, will be stepping down from running the show.

However, according to Michael Ausiello – along with co-showrunner Robert Singer – Eric will still be heavily involved as an executive producer.

But fans of Supernatural need not worry – the show will be left in BRILLIANT hands.  Taking over the showrunning duties will be executive producer/writer Sera Gamble, who has been with the show since the first season.

Kripke is almost finished negotiating with Warner Brothers for a development deal.  This is good news for the future, since this means that his awesome brain will be creating some more amazing TV/movie content.

Hopefully he will find more success than another creative genious: Joss Whedon; whose latest creations (while new & fresh) have failed to find enough of an audience to keep them on the air.
